My Journey
Welcome to my world. We are all connected. Let us inspire each other. Let us turn pain into power. We can do it together.
Back in November 2019, at the age of 52, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
I was going to need all my energy and strength to battle cancer, a word that was distant from the world I was living in.
I always knew that I was going to make it on the other side but there were days where I was not so sure. To keep on believing in myself I wrote down some thoughts to keep me motivated. I used the energy I had on my good days to keep me going on the bad ones.
My connection with this Universe has gotten to the next level. Every day, I listen, see, feel, touch in a much better way than before. I am more aware of my strengths and weaknesses. I am thankful for that. I turned pain into power. Power to make a difference in people's lives. Power to change someone’s perspective. Awareness, living in the moment, absorbing every little detail, every little change in moods. Being kind to myself and others. Being joyful, mindful, thoughtful.
I wish everyone whom path I cross peace today!
Whatever connection you have with God, the Universe or Spirit Guides, I wish you a good talk, a wonderful response, a force that guides you, an energy that surrounds you, a calm and comforting feeling that we are all connected, we inspire each other, we move to the next level TOGETHER.
I adjusted my sails

My family has always been my biggest rock. I am very proud of both of my sons whom I love dearly. I can't really imagine what kind of a shock it must have been for them to hear my diagnose. It was a very scary one.
Both of them gifted me with very precious messages of never letting go, never giving up! I believe in the power of words.
What kept me going through the storm

My caregiver, my husband, my better self.
36 years of looking in the same direction.
I am so lucky and grateful for this wonderful companion in my life. I can't imagine how my life would look like without him in the picture.

I BELIEVE
I was in a very dark place
Doors were shut and kept me hostage for a while
I wanted to escape but my mind was frozen and my body in total destruction mode
There was no rewind button, no stop one either, only moving forward one
I even started to taste death
My body revolted
Mind and body were fighting
“Why me”? I asked myself
“I worked out” said the body
“I stayed positive” said the mind
“What did we do wrong”? asked the body and mind simultaneously
“Nothing” said the heart
It just happened
“How do we fix this”? Everyone asked
Well, we push the refresh button and we start from scratch
We work together
We fight together
We believe
That everything is gonna be ok
That everything happens for a reason
I am a survivor
I am in a very happy place
I can open any door I want
In the end we must consider
that a Reiki Master isn't one who has mastered Reiki,
but one who has allowed herself to be mastered by Reiki.

Am I mastering Reiki or does Reiki master me?

Turning PAIN into POWER
There were days I thought I was not going to make it. I was in survival mode. I needed to constantly push on the right button. No errors allowed, no delays. Reiki was suggested to me. I gave it a shot. I will never regret this decision. Reiki became my safe haven. It will always stay my safe haven.

Mind over body
Beginning November 2019, I was treated by Jo Currier for nine months, twice a week. She and her husband Jeff had a store called Ways to Wellness on Mainstreet in Midland, MI.
My life changed when I met Jo, she is a wonderful human being full of energy and charisma. I immediately felt comfortable in her presence, and trusted her with my life, my journey, my cancer...
She made me realize how powerful words are. When I said that I had breast cancer at that time, she immediately corrected my language and said that I was in the process of healing from breast cancer. That makes a big difference! It has a big impact on your body. Remember the words mind over body? Yeah, easier said than done. One has to change one's mindset and also one's intentions.
It was very beneficial for me to have Reiki treatments aside my chemo treatments. I felt less anxious and the pain was more tolerable. I truly believe I was healing so much faster by going into deeper meditation. While I know that Reiki is not a substitute for traditional cancer treatment, it can serve as complimentary care, helping increase comfort levels mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
During that time, I had built a stronger connection with my spirit guides and they have been by my side ever since. I have opened a spiritual door and I am walking a path that is clearer and more free of fear. I feel guided and supported.

Distant Reiki
I have experienced how distant Reiki can be effective during one of my fourteen infusions of Kadcyla at UPenn.
I was hesitant at first but willing to give it a try. I had enjoyed my Reiki treatment in Midland. MI tremendously so far, so when that option was offered, I took it.
The Reiki practitioner and I first had a conversation about the infusion. I described that my hands and feet were going to be in ice for thirty minutes. This is to prevent that the drug gets to deep into the nerve system to cause neuropathy or make it worse.
During the infusion, I felt a difference with Reiki treatment. We also had a conversation after to see if there were any changes in my body and I must say that during that half hour, I felt heat flowing through my body. This was exactly what the practitioner had been working on.

Practicing Reiki every day
Since I took Reiki courses, I try to work on my healing every day by activating the symbols and being mindful of my thoughts. Since I have been cut loose from my treatment schedule, I sometimes feel myself alone in a land between illness and wellness. That is why Reiki has become so important to me. It has become a lifestyle.
These following links I found interesting read. I find Pamela Miles to be very knowledgeable and experienced in the Reiki field. I would recommend reading one of her books: REIKI: A Comprehensive Guide
